Our Story So Far

Kernow Training Solutions (KTS)  founder, Carl Tinkler, is passionate about empowering adults and children with the skills to make a difference in an emergency situation. As a dedicated outdoors enthusiast and adventurer, he also champions outdoor education and active experiences promoting young people's personal and social development and wellbeing.

Launched in 2016, Launceston based KTS has provided First Aid courses for many businesses and community settings.  Carl has also developed a very popular Outdoor Education programme including School Enrichment Activity days or “Wellbeing Days” and regularly leads them for South West schools.

​

In addition, Carl also delivers qualified Activity Instructor and Independent End Point Assessor services to a number of outdoor education operators.

In Safe Hands

An accomplished trainer, Carl is an instructor and assessor with impressive credentials. His experience includes 20+ years delivering training and activity instruction to the Outdoor Education sector.  He has spent the last few years building up working relationships with local Schools and Businesses enabling him to adapt the training to meet their individual needs.

KTS is an accredited training provider through Qualsafe Awards and 1st4Sport, Carl is also a member of British Canoeing, Mountain Training and the Institute of Outdoor Learning.

In his spare time Carl is both a Scout Leader and since 2015, he's also been an active member of North Dartmoor Search and Rescue team.
